On August 16, the 2022 China (Shaanxi) - South Korea Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference on Logistics Industry Development and Cooperation was held in Xi'an.
Representatives from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Xi'an, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) Xi'an Office, the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) Xi'an Office, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, various municipal (district) commerce departments, relevant development zones, the Shaanxi Provincial Logistics and Procurement Federation, some overseas business offices of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, and Korean and Chinese companies with potential cooperation in the logistics industry attended the conference both online and offline.

At the conference, representatives from the Xi'an Xianyang New Area Airport New City, Baoji City, Xianyang City, and the Land Port Group presented the logistics and related industry cooperation advantages of their respective regions and invited interested South Korean companies to visit and engage in exchange. The Xi'an Xianyang New Area Airport New City highlighted its role as an important international aviation hub in western China, emphasizing the hope that South Korean entrepreneurs would "pay attention to the airport, understand the airport, and invest in the airport" for mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
The Land Port Group focused on introducing the China-Europe Railway Express "Chang'an Hao" and the Asia-Europe land-sea trade corridor, as well as the related details of South Korean transit trains. Representatives from Incheon Port Authority, Japan Express Company, Busan Port Authority, and the Korea Halal Export Association also spoke at the conference, expressing their willingness to further cooperate.
Additionally, the Shaanxi Provincial Halal Food Association and the Korea Halal Export Association signed a memorandum of cooperation.

China and South Korea are friendly neighboring countries, and the economic and trade exchanges between Shaanxi and South Korea have been close. In recent years, the two sides have strengthened their ties, with increasingly practical cooperation and significant achievements.
In terms of foreign trade, the total import and export value between Shaanxi Province and South Korea has grown steadily over the past three years. From 73.112 billion yuan, it surpassed 90 billion yuan, and in 2021, it exceeded the 100 billion yuan mark, reaching 101.346 billion yuan, accounting for more than one-fifth of the province's total import and export volume, consistently ranking first. From January to July this year, the total import and export value between Shaanxi and South Korea was 56.197 billion yuan, maintaining the same level as the previous year, with exports to South Korea reaching 34.883 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.41%.
In terms of foreign investment, by June this year, South Korea had established a total of 382 enterprises in Shaanxi, accounting for 5% of the province's total. Despite the impact of the pandemic, South Korea still set up six new investment projects in Shaanxi in the first half of this year. By the end of 2021, South Korea had accumulated a contractual foreign investment of 14.925 billion USD in Shaanxi, accounting for 19.47% of the province's total foreign investment. The actual use of South Korean investment stood at 14.094 billion USD, accounting for 19.01%, making it the second-largest foreign investment source for Shaanxi. From January to June this year, the actual utilization of South Korean investment in Shaanxi was 1.556 billion USD, reflecting a growth of 55.3%.
This conference provided a solid platform for deepening mutual understanding between Shaanxi and South Korea, offering practical opportunities to expand effective investment cooperation in the logistics industry and achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
