The 2022 China (Shaanxi) -RCEP Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Roundtable was successfully concluded

On the afternoon of August 14, the 2022 China (Shaanxi) -RCEP Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Roundtable was held in Xi 'an. Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province Ye Niuping and Secretary-General of China-Asean Center Chen Dehai attended and addressed the meeting.

Ye Niuping pointed out in his speech that Shaanxi has maintained close ties with RCEP member countries in many aspects such as trade exchanges, investment cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. The RCEP will inject new momentum into Shaanxi's high-level opening-up and bring new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between member states and Shaanxi. Shaanxi will take this round table as an opportunity to align the rules of the RCEP agreement with high quality and precision, continuously improve the level of trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, actively expand cooperation space with member states, share policy dividends and development opportunities, promote inland reform and opening up, and promote high-quality development with high-level opening up.

The reporter learned from the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce that in 2021, the total import and export value of Shaanxi and RCEP member countries reached 189.5 billion yuan, accounting for 39.8% of the total import and export value of the province; From January to June this year, the total import and export value of Shaanxi and RCEP member countries was 93.273 billion yuan, an increase of 4.41%.
The RCEP will inject new momentum into Shaanxi's high-level opening-up and bring new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between member states and Shaanxi.

The China-Asean Center is the only inter-governmental international organization jointly established by China and the ten ASEAN countries. Chen Dehai said that the China-Asean Center will continue to play a good role as a bridge and link, and actively support, publicize and participate in exchanges and cooperation between Shaanxi Province and ASEAN countries in various fields under the RCEP framework.

At the meeting, guests from 10 embassies, consulates and business representative institutions of RCEP member states and representatives of key enterprises in the province focused on the theme of "Sharing development opportunities and achieving win-win cooperation", focusing on the RCEP agreement rules, actively expanding the cooperation space with member states, sharing policy dividends and development opportunities, and building a new development pattern of Shaanxi's opening up to the outside world. To realize the prosperity and development of the region, discussions and exchanges were conducted, and cooperation ideas and suggestions were put forward.

Tian Chao, general manager of Shaanxi Heavy Vehicle Import and Export Co., LTD., introduced that Shaanxi Automobile provided heavy truck products for RCEP member states at the same time, but also brought China's technology and services, has provided more than 20,000 vehicles for China-Laos railway, Cambodia Golden Port Highway, Indonesia Qingshan Mining and other projects. Chen Daohu, director of the Energy Development Research Institute of Longi Green Energy Technology Co., LTD., said that based on Longi's future global business growth and business planning, it is expected that the annual sales in 2022 will exceed 100 billion yuan, an increase of about 20%, so the study and use of RCEP regional preferential origin policy is the top priority of Longi's future work.

Sun Jinghu, deputy director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, introduced at the meeting that RCEP member states are the largest trading partner of Shaanxi, the main overseas market of Shaanxi, and the important source of foreign investment in Shaanxi. Sun Jinghu said that Shaanxi will, with a more open and inclusive attitude, carry out trade and investment cooperation with RCEP member countries in five aspects, including strengthening trade cooperation in goods, innovating and developing trade in services, expanding investment cooperation, unblocking international channels for capacity expansion, and continuously optimizing the business environment, so as to seek common development.
